If you were told by a Doctor “Your health is at risk if you don't improve it”. You'd have a pretty good idea of what you could do to get started.
You’d think about diet, movement and probably some other things like sleep.
But what if you needed to improve your mental health, help with things like depression and anxiety? Or you’d just had enough of yourself, your life and had decided to get happier?
What do you know would work to get a healthy mind? And where would you start?
Everything we learn in life - academically, an instrument or a sport requires a base of skills to get started. And then we practice them over and over, to constantly get better. But with mental health, few of us know any proven skills and even fewer of us practice them consistently.
I've put together six lessons taken from psychology and personnel development. I've taken the big words out and put everything into small digestible steps. And we know, from research, that just one of these lessons will help you. But put all six together and you’ll have tools and skills to work through almost any challenge life throws at you.
And you don't need an ice bath, to learn meditation, burn incense or chant. While those practices may sedate you and leave you feeling better real change requires new thinking. Just a decision to open up and learn. Spend a small amount of consistent time learning these six skills and you will feel and see changes for the better.
Studied, measured and proven again and again
I BELEIVE THAT YOUR GREATEST TOOL IS YOUR BRAIN. …Yes even you!
and you can start to train it gently, curiously and consistently. Just like you would a new gym program.
And just lastly, yes life can be really harsh and difficult. I want people to know there are actions and solutions to help with almost and of life's struggles. Maybe not perfection but towards something better.
And that’s what I'm all about.
Wishing you peace, calm and happiness.
